Great turn out for the first morning from our new batch of beginners, great effort shown by all riders in testing conditions. A nice tail wind down to Youghal, over the testing bypass and back in the heavy headwinds proved a tough start for the beginners but all passed with flying colours. The East Cork Journal were on hand to take photos of the day and have a marvelous picture spread in this weeks issue. Big thank you to Jon, Jim, Martin,Ken and Ollie for your help and support on the First morning. This week we will be again meeting at 9.30am at the Court house with Ride captains for the beginners group will be Barry McMahon,Martin Enright, John Lynch & Tony Fitzgerald. Beginners remember to bring water , food and money for coffee.

Be safe.

  • Honk 'till you bonk formula = Go home when you can't take anymore .

  • Stop at the top and wait.

You can take as long as you like on each climb and you will never be more than 20k from home, if you have a change of heart (and chances are it'll be all downhill on the way home). Club members Sally and Rachel Drennan have kindly offered to provide tea and coffee to anybody who makes it as far as their house , in return for a small donation to the Simon Community. Weather looks windy with some light showers possible.

Temperature won't matter because you won't be cold. The Linked Strava map ( click on the underlinned title) can be be downloaded onto the Garmin 810.
