Weekly Round up

A very active Week for Midleton CTC this week with huge numbers on the road.

Saturday saw the Juvenile spin which started with the Club Presenting long term helper Michael Broderick with a bike rack as a token of our appreciation for all the work he does for the juveniles. His twin boys ride with us and he is always keeping the group safe by driving behind us with his orange flashing beacon on his car. Many of you would have seen him on our Xmas Breakfast spin also. He is an invaluable asset to have on the juvenile spins. Thank you Michael!

Sunday Saw 3 groups on the road!

The beginners group set off at 9.30 am and did the Garyvoe Loop. 23 riders took part in the beginners spin which from the first week has seen great numbers. Thank you to the Road captains for the day Derry Cadogan , Barry Hogan , Jonny Finn and Garry Mcguinness as well as all the beginners for coming.

The 8.30 Coffee spin did a 80km loop via 12 balls, White church and then a trip up Patricks hill.

Large numbers for this as usual with a great pace particulaly on the flat back from town with a strong tail wind. Dave Power managed to take the KOM Carrigtwohill - Midleton (w-e) piping Jonny Waterman by one second with an average of 50kmph, great riding. Rumours that Ken lost his Bottle early on can be confirmed however he went back and got it! My excuse for bailing on Patricks Hill has not yet been concocted by when I think of one I will let you know.

The Racing group had another strong training session of 120km averaging around 30kmph. This group

is really starting to look strong now and will hopefully deliver some great results for the club again this season. With more riders joining this group Hopes are high.

Well done all.
