An excellent turnout this morning by Midleton CTC members at the Youghal Moby Dick Duathlon. A challenging course with an initial 3km run followed by a windy 20km cycle and a very challenging hilly 5km run to finish. Well done to all. Already looking forward to the next event on Easter Monday at the Ballinspittle Duathlon.

Ras Luimni was the race to be at for the top home riders of Ireland this weekend as the opening round of the National league began, MCTC was well represented by Shane Fuller racing in club colours.

Shane was jostling in the thick of the action all day and showed the club jersey at the front of the bunch for the whole day.

The race itself was an agressive battle all day consisting of a 30km undulating loop with an 800 meter puncheur's ramp to the finish line in Caherconlish village. Shane battled hard all day staying in with the main bunch all the way to the finish with a average of 38.2km/h for the 95km race.

With this being the first race of the season we can't wait to see how Shane gets on once he has some company form fellow club mates later in the season.

Well done Shane
