Fort to Fort 2015. As we all know sunday wasn't the kindest for the wind. 9am I hit the road to cycle down to whitegate where my adventure would begin for the day. The cycle down was a battle to Whitegate with a strong headwind and cross wind.
On arrival my departure time was 10:15. With the wind behind me for the first couple of kms I was flying it. But that all changed when I turned towards east ferry where the wind was against me again. Once I had come back out of east ferry and was back on the main road I had a small break from the wind. From Midleton, Ballintubber, barryscourt up to the fota road I battled away with the wind. Once reaching belvelly bridge the route turned left for me to head up ballard hill. At this stage I had a break from the wind in return for the hills of Cobh. After climbing ballard, the route then went off to ballymore to come back onto the tay road heading to the ferry. But before I got onto the ferry I had turned left towards Cobh down the high road before turning down onto the lower road to come back onto the high road to head back to the ferry. Once I crossed over on the ferry the journey then turned left towards the main Ringaskiddy road. Once I was on the main Ringaskiddy road I had a break from the wind. The route then turned right up shanbally to carrigaline where the wind returned once again. On arrival into Carrigaline I knew the wind would be behind me for the rest of the journey. On reaching crosshaven I had one final hill to climb. On reaching the top a camden hill into camden fort it was great to see my family to support me.
