On April 10th Midleton Cycling Club and Midleton Rugby Club are getting together to raise funds for Two Great Charities.

60, 90 and 120 cycling route options, based around the Iron Man cycle route, taking in some of the most scenic views that East Cork has to offer. The hope is that this will have something for everyone – and if you can’t cycle it perhaps you would consider helping out.

Register at EventMaster “Midleton Aware and In The Air” or https://eventmaster.ie/event/Oon8UpmH0Z. Cycling Fee; 42.50 euros max (inclusive of Eventmaster fee) for all routes.

Never have so many people needed the services of this mental health organisation – calls for help and support have increased significantly post covid.

More and more this service is been called on to support the normal ambulance service, with the cost per call out more than 3000 euros they need ongoing support to survive.

With coffee before, protein during, and a curry afterwards – nourishment will not

be the challenge . Sign up from 8am, rolling out from 9am at Midleton Rugby Club on April 10th.

Please contact David @ 083 1456617 or Noel @ 086 1704072 if you have any questions, or can help with marshalling or other activities.

The riders and guests of Midleton Cycling and Triathlon Club marked their late club member John Shanahan's 2nd anniversary by staging an event John would have loved himself - a handicap team time trial in teams of two. John was visually impaired so always rode with a pilot on his beloved tandem.

Fifteen teams took on the undulating course around Dungourney and back to Midleton via Castelyons Cross, minded and shepherded by a team of volunteer marshals. Despite twenty minutes between the departure of the first and last teams, it was a win for the handicappers when the 3rd last team caught the 3rd team on the line. Youghal Cycling Club's Anthony Kenneally and Brian Landers tell us they never even heard Midleton CTC's Daire Breathnach and Cian Murphy approaching. Thanks to the prize sponsorship of Carraigtwohill's Roca Sports, neither team left Midleton's My Place empty handed.
